Held over the Lantern Festival, the fourteenth and fifteenth days of the first lunar month, around Yanshui Wu Temple in Tainan. Beehive frames of thousands of bottle rockets are fired into the crowd through the night to drive out misfortune. In 2027 the Lantern Festival falls around 19 to 20 February; Tainan City confirms the exact dates each year.

Held during the Taiwan Lantern Festival, on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, in the Pingxi district of New Taipei City, promoted by the New Taipei City Government since 1999. The mass sky-lantern releases run over two evenings, usually at Pingxi and at Shifen. The 2027 grand finale at Shifen is expected around 20 February; the official schedule is released each January.

Held once a year on the last Saturday of February at Mutenguleni village, near Chipata in Zambia's Eastern Province, as the Ngoni first-fruits ceremony. The Ngoni paramount chief presides, tasting the first produce of the season, and warriors perform the ingoma war dance. The ceremony in its modern form was revived in 1980. Upcoming: the 2026 N'cwala was held on 28 February 2026; the 2027 ceremony is expected on 27 February 2027.
