Why go
Copenhagen Fashion Week has become the most talked-about emerging show on the global circuit, driven by Scandinavian sustainability credentials and a distinct aesthetic (Ganni, Cecilie Bahnsen, Rotate) that has disproportionate global influence for a small market. It is deliberately more accessible than the Big 4: more open presentations, more public events, more genuine interaction with designers. Copenhagen itself, design culture, cycling infrastructure, exceptional food, amplifies the fashion experience and makes the city a destination in its own right.
When it runs
Two seasons: August (summer womenswear) and late January/early February (winter).

What to expect
Two seasons: August (summer womenswear) and late January/early February (winter). August is the most atmospheric: outdoor events, terrace culture, warm evenings. January/February is cold but the fashion week has a concentrated, intimate quality. Sustainability programming, panel discussions, industry events, often has public access. Street style concentrates in Frederiksberg and Vesterbro.
Getting there & around
Copenhagen airport is among the best connected in Scandinavia, often the cheapest gateway. The city is compact, walkable, and extremely bikeable. Fashion week events spread across Frederiksberg and Vesterbro neighborhoods. More independent shows and showrooms are genuinely open to non-industry attendees here than at any of the Big 4. Check the CPHFW website for the public schedule.
