How we choose
ReasonToGo is an editorial index of activity travel: the activities we cover, mapped to the places and months where they are honestly good. This page is the rulebook we hold ourselves to.
How places get chosen
Every activity and destination pairing earns its place on conditions, season, access, and the strength of the local scene. We write from research, not from sponsorship, and every entry keeps one honest drawback, because no place is good for everyone in every month. If a destination is famous for an activity but the reality no longer holds up, it does not go in.
Honest timing
We publish the months that are good and, just as deliberately, the months that are not. A shoulder-season bargain that is actually a washout does not make the list. Event dates read confirmed where the organizer has published them and expected where we have projected the recurrence, and we say which is which. Always verify dates before booking.
Providers: link-verified, not endorsed
We list providers and organizers so you have a starting point that demonstrably exists. Names, websites, and stated accreditations are checked when a listing is added, and links are re-checked on a rolling basis. A listing is not an endorsement: we take no responsibility for any provider, and you should verify current prices, safety records, and certifications directly before you commit to anyone.
How we make money
Readers pay us for plans, from $29. That is the business. Providers pay us nothing: no bookings, no commissions, no affiliate links, no paid placement. Nobody can pay to be listed, and nobody can pay to rank. If that ever changes in any category, it will be labeled on the page where it applies.
How the work gets done
Research is agent-assisted; every entry passes a human editorial gate before it ships. The longer story of the method is on the About page. Spotted something wrong? Tell us and we will check it.
