There is no organizer to book and no ticket office; the Church, the bands, and the householders who throw the pots carry the tradition, and the municipality simply publishes the program. You find a balcony-facing spot early and let the island do the rest.

The Athens Epidaurus Festival has staged summer performances here since 1955, ancient tragedy mostly, surtitled for non-Greek speakers, and the 2026 edition opens a new chapter with the Greek National Opera bringing Medea, the first opera at Epidaurus this century. A whisper from the orchestra reaches the top row without amplification; hearing it happen is the goosebump the whole trip is built around.
