Whitewater Kayaking / Rafting in Noguera PallaresaES
Spain's whitewater river: 60 kilometers of navigable Pyrenean water through the paddling town of Sort, with a March-to-October season few European rivers can match.
Why here
The Noguera Pallaresa is the river Spanish whitewater is built on: 60 kilometers of navigable Pyrenean water widely rated among Europe's best rafting runs, with the town of Sort functioning as the country's paddling capital, slalom heritage, gear shops, and river companies end to end. Snowmelt plus dam-supported flows stretch the season from March to October, rare in southern Europe, and the graded sections ladder from family Class II floats to the Collegats gorge at Class IV-plus. One valley covers raft, kayak school, hydrospeed, and canoe, and Baqueira's Val d'Aran sits an hour north for a combined Pyrenees trip.
Best months
March through October, with May and June the big-water snowmelt peak. Summer runs warmer and friendlier for families. Book two to four weeks ahead for May-June weekends and August.
