Why here

The Vrbas hosted the 2009 World Rafting Championship and the 2005 Europeans, and it remains one of the few rivers able to stage every rafting discipline: grade 3-4 rapids through a canyon that begins practically at Banja Luka's city limits, dam-regulated into reliability from April to October. The championship-heritage center at Karanovac runs twenty-five IRF-certified guides and a local signature no one else offers, night rafting under floodlights through the gorge. Trips run 25-50 euros and take children from remarkably young on the gentle sections, which tells you how well the river is managed.

April to October, dam-regulated and reliable, with May-June the liveliest water. Standard runs need only swimming ability; the championship sections wait for the experienced. Night rafting is the thing to book.
