Why go
Paris Fashion Week is the apex of the global fashion calendar, the final city in the Big 4 circuit, and the one that sets the cultural tone for the season. Shows from the major French houses (Chanel, Dior, Saint Laurent, Givenchy) are invitation-only, but the city transforms visibly: showrooms open, concept stores launch collaborations, and the street style outside show venues has become an institution in itself. For fashion-motivated travelers, Paris in February/March or September/October delivers a density of fashion culture unavailable at any other time.

What to expect
Two Ready-to-Wear seasons: late February/early March and late September/early October. Haute Couture in January and July. Shows cluster around the Marais, Saint-Germain, Palais Royal, and Tuileries. Street style is most concentrated outside show venues, the Grand Palais area and Palais de Tokyo. February in Paris is cold (3-8°C); September is mild and ideal.
Getting there & around
Paris is exceptionally well-connected, Eurostar from London, TGV from across Europe, Charles de Gaulle airport. Accommodation prices rise 20-30% during fashion week. Showrooms, trade events, and some presentations have more open access than main shows, check brand websites and the Fédération de la Haute Couture schedule for public-facing events. Pop-ups and concept store launches provide street-level entry points.
