Music & Culture Festivals in Rodney Bay
Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival
Rodney Bay is the resort and marina hub at the north end of Saint Lucia, in the Gros Islet quarter. Its IGY marina is the island's yachting centre and the finish line of the annual ARC transatlantic rally, and a causeway links the bay to the Pigeon Island National Landmark, a restored British fort that serves as the main stage for the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival.
Run by Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, with published dates and a real program.

Why here
The Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival is the island's flagship cultural event, staged each spring with its main concerts at the Pigeon Island National Landmark, the old British fort on the peninsula across the causeway from Rodney Bay. Running since the early 1990s, it grew into one of the Caribbean's best-known music festivals and now spreads a full arts programme, theatre, visual art, fashion and food, around a line-up that mixes international jazz, R&B and soul headliners with Saint Lucian and wider Caribbean acts. The setting is the draw as much as the music: a grassy natural amphitheatre between two hills that were once gun batteries, the stage backed by the sea and the sunset, with the audience spread on the slopes. Beyond Pigeon Island the festival takes over venues across the north of the island for late shows and smaller sets, so the whole Rodney Bay area moves to it for the run. For a week each spring this is where the region's musicians and its music-lovers come.
Best months
The festival runs in late spring, at the tail of the dry season, so the weather is warm and mostly settled for the open-air shows on Pigeon Island, though an evening shower is possible. Main-stage concerts are ticketed and the big nights sell out, while some fringe events around Rodney Bay and Gros Islet are free. This is a peak travel window for the island, so flights and northern hotels fill early. The 2027 festival is scheduled for 30 April to 9 May.
Getting there & around
Pigeon Island is reached by the causeway from Gros Islet at the north end of the island, a short taxi or drive from the Rodney Bay hotels where most festival-goers stay. Buy main-stage tickets in advance through the official festival channels; gates open in the afternoon for evening concerts and seating on the lawns is unreserved, so bring something to sit on. Late-night and fringe events are scattered around Rodney Bay within easy taxi reach. Book accommodation in the north well ahead, as this is one of the busiest weeks of the year. Bring a light layer for the sea breeze after dark.
