Mountaineering / Summits in ChamonixFR
Mountaineering's spiritual home. Mont Blanc, the Aiguilles, and the Vallée Blanche — all serviced by world-class IFMGA guides.
Why here
Chamonix is mountaineering's spiritual address. Mont Blanc (4,808m), the Aiguilles Rouges, and the Haute Route all depart from here. IFMGA-certified guides are embedded in the town's fabric — this is where serious alpinists train and progress.
Best months
June–Sept for non-technical ascents. Mixed and ice routes extend to April–May for experienced alpinists. Acclimatisation at Aiguille du Midi (3,842m) recommended before attempting the summit.
Getting there & around
Geneva airport 90 minutes away. Guide booking should be done months in advance for peak season. Acclimatization and gear requirements add planning overhead.
