Copenhagen Jazz Festival
Jul 2โ11, 2027ExpectedCopenhagen Jazz Festival 2027
Run by Copenhagen Jazz Festival, with published dates and a real program.

Why go
For ten days every July the Copenhagen Jazz Festival turns the whole city into a stage, and it is one of the largest and longest-running jazz festivals in Europe. Run by a non-profit foundation, it programs around 1,000 concerts across more than 100 venues, from the concert halls and the historic Jazzhus Montmartre to courtyards, cafes, churches and open-air squares, with a large share of the music free and outdoors. The scope is the appeal: you can build a day from lunchtime sets in a park to a headline show in a hall to a late jam in a basement club, mixing Danish and Nordic players with touring international names. It captures Copenhagen at its most sociable, in the long light of Danish midsummer, and it is easy to fold into a wider city visit.
When it runs
Ten days starting the first Friday of July each year, across more than 100 venues citywide. Upcoming: the 2027 edition is expected around 2 to 11 July.

What to expect
The festival runs for ten days starting the first Friday of July, in reliably mild, long-daylight summer weather. Much of the program is free, open-air and walk-up, so you can improvise; the marquee hall shows are ticketed and sell out, so book those early. The full program is published in late spring at the festival site. Venues are spread across the city, and a bike is the local way to hop between them.
Getting there & around
Everything happens inside Copenhagen and is reachable by bike, Metro or on foot; venues cluster in the center, Norrebro, Vesterbro and along the harbor. Free outdoor stages need no ticket; buy tickets for hall and club headliners in advance through the festival program. Any central hotel or stay puts you within reach of most of the music.
