Why here

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is the closer of the Formula 1 calendar, the last race of the season run under lights at the Yas Marina Circuit on Yas Island. It has become the sport's grand finale, the place where championships are settled and the paddock says goodbye to the year, and the twilight start means the race slides from daylight into a floodlit night as it runs. Beyond the track, the weekend is built around it: concerts by headline acts after each session, a marina full of yachts, and the whole of Yas Island turned over to the event. Tickets and grandstands are sold through the circuit. For a first Formula 1 weekend, the combination of a dramatic season-ending race and an easy, compact host city is hard to beat.

The race is the Formula 1 season finale, run over four days in late November or early December, with the 2026 edition confirmed for December 3 to 6. Weather is at its most pleasant then, warm days and mild evenings. Grandstand and paddock tickets, and the post-race concerts, sell out well ahead. The twilight race starts in late afternoon and finishes after dark.

Getting there & around

Moderate logistics

Yas Marina Circuit is on Yas Island, about 30 minutes from downtown Abu Dhabi and around 60 to 90 minutes from Dubai. Yas Island hotels sell out and price up for the race weekend, so book far ahead.
