Why here

Shahdag is Azerbaijan's flagship ski resort, built from nothing since 2012 in the Greater Caucasus near Gusar under the 4,243-meter mountain that names it: thirty-seven slopes across all levels, two ski and mountain schools with international instructors, and a resort village whose hotel stock outclasses its lift-pass prices. The season runs early December to late February or March depending on the year, and summer flips the same lifts to hiking and adventure-park mode. It is Gulf-facing resort tourism meeting Caucasus terrain, which makes for empty morning pistes and instructors with time to actually teach.
