Paragliding in OludenizTR
A small resort town on Turkey's Turquoise Coast, famous for its Blue Lagoon and as one of the world's most photographed paragliding destinations. Babadag Mountain rises 1,960m directly above the beach.
Why here
Babadag Mountain rises 1,960 metres directly above a turquoise lagoon, giving Oludeniz one of the most distinctive launch-to-landing trajectories in paragliding. The flight path crosses above the Blue Lagoon, a protected natural park, before landing on Belcekiz Beach. Tandems dominate the scene and the landing zone is one of the busiest in the sport, but the mountain draws serious solo pilots too: the thermals are predictable, the views are genuinely remarkable, and the sheer verticality of the site makes it worth experiencing regardless of your level.
Best months
Thermals build from around 10am, peaking in the early afternoon. Wind is predominantly from the southwest, funneling through the valley. Summer is reliable but crowded. May and October offer better conditions for experienced pilots who want less traffic on the hill and at the landing zone. The site is well-managed with a clear protocol for launch order.
Getting there & around
Oludeniz is 45 minutes from Dalaman Airport (DLM). A cable car runs to the Babadag launch in high season, though most experienced pilots take the jeep track to choose their exact launch spot. Ground transport, tandem bookings, and gear rental are all easy to arrange in town. The paragliding infrastructure is mature and heavily serviced.
