Paragliding in LimaPE

Peru's capital and the culinary heavyweight of the Americas, stretched along Pacific clifftops. The Miraflores costa verde doubles as one of the world's few true urban paragliding sites.

Why here

Lima is one of the only major cities on earth where paragliding is a downtown activity: the sea breeze hits the Miraflores clifftops and stands them up into a ridge-soaring machine, so pilots launch from a city park, soar past apartment towers and the malecon crowds, and land back where they started. The dedicated parapuerto in Raimondi Park runs tandem flights every afternoon with certified pilots, no experience needed, making it the easiest world-class flying experience to actually do: no travel day, no weather trek, just a ten-minute walk from your hotel to the sky.

The coastal breeze works year-round, with flights typically from late morning to sunset when the onshore wind fills in. Peru's summer (December-April) brings sunny skies and the most reliable conditions; the gray-sky garua season (June-October) still flies most days under overcast. Flights cancel only when the breeze fails, and rebooking same-week is easy.

The launch sits in Antonio Raimondi Park on the Miraflores malecon; walk up in the afternoon and fly, or book ahead on weekends. Tandems run 10-15 minutes for roughly 80 USD. Licensed pilots operate under the municipal parapuerto system; confirm your pilot is flying within it.
