Why here

The Festival Internacional de Jazz d'Escaldes-Engordany is the oldest reason to be in Andorra in July, a jazz festival the parish has run since 1985, when it opened with a Ray Charles concert. After a long pause it came back in 2022 and has grown fast; the 2026 edition drew 6,400 people over a week. Ticketed evening concerts by international names fill the Prat del Roure hall, while free open-air sets and late-night jam sessions spill onto Coprinceps square in the heart of the spa town. Chucho Valdes, Joshua Redman and Paquito D'Rivera have played the recent bills. It is small, walkable and unusually big-name for a country this size, and easy to fold into a summer trip to the Pyrenees.

The festival runs for about a week in early July. Evening concerts at the Prat del Roure are ticketed and the headline nights sell out, so book ahead; the street concerts and jam sessions on Coprinceps square are free and open. Escaldes is warm and busy in July, and everything sits within a short walk in the town centre.

Getting there & around

Straightforward logistics

Escaldes-Engordany runs straight into Andorra la Vella and is served by local bus; the country has no train or airport, so arrival is by car or coach from Barcelona or Toulouse, about three hours. Concert tickets are sold through the parish council's festival site, and the venues, hotels, spa and restaurants are all within walking distance in the town centre.
