Why here

Les Vieilles Charrues is France's biggest music festival and one of Europe's most improbable: a town of 7,000 in rural central Brittany hosts around 264,000 people over four July days, with headliners on the scale of Katy Perry, Nick Cave, and Orelsan sharing the Kerampuilh fields with Breton culture, all run by a non-profit association whose proceeds fund the region's cultural life. It began in 1992 as a village joke, the old ploughs, and grew into a national institution without losing the community machinery: thousands of local volunteers still run it. The setting is the point: France's largest party in a place that maps barely mark.
