Why here
Dubai's winter wind turns the Jumeirah shoreline into a genuine kitesurfing city. The heart of it is Nessnass Beach and the adjacent Kite Beach, a stretch of shallow, flat, warm water with steady onshore breeze, a designated kite zone and schools lined up on the sand. It is one of the easier places in the world to learn: you can walk out into waist-deep water, the season lines up with the pleasant months, and a modern city sits directly behind the beach. Kite N Surf teaches with IKO-certified instructors from Nessnass and City Beach, and Kite Zone Dubai runs private and group lessons plus tandem rides from the same stretch. Experienced riders get long, uncrowded downwinders along the Gulf.
Best months
The wind season runs roughly October to April, driven by the cooler-month shamal winds, with 12 to 20 knots common and best in the mornings. Water is warm and shallow at Nessnass, which makes body-dragging and first water starts far less intimidating. Kitesurfing is only permitted in the marked zones with certified schools, and lessons need to be booked rather than turning up cold. Summer is hot and largely windless.
Getting there & around
Nessnass and Kite Beach sit in Jumeirah, a short drive from central Dubai with parking behind the sand. Schools supply all gear for lessons. The kite zone is regulated, so ride with a school or club rather than rigging up outside the marked area.
